Check out the map, photo tips and tricks and be a part of the new Mountain Moments story.
Here the striking rock needle Cimon della Pala (3184m) is reflected. The magnificent views of the Pala Group with its 3185-meter-high rocky peak are the highlight of this hike on the Rolle Pass.
More unknown, but no less impressive, are the views along the Lagorai mountain range where picturesquely rest the natural mountain lakes Colbricon and Cavalazza in the natural park of Paneveggio Pale di San Martino.

Route description Passo Rolle – Baita Sengatini hike
The starting point of this tour is the top station of the Colbricon cable car. First a few steps straight ahead and across the ski slope. Here the hiking trail S2 begins and leads to the Passo Colbricon (1908m).
At the pass, turn right on path n. E349 and in a few steps reach the Colbricon lakes (1930m) and the mountain hut. A little south of the hut, the path turns towards Cavallazza (2326m).
Follow this trail uphill and now always along the ridge towards the north and past old military forts to the ski area. Through the ski area follow the signs for Passo Rolle until you reach the pass road.
Follow the road downhill a few steps to the right and take the road to Baita Segantini on the left. Follow the road or take the shorter path to Baita Segantini.
The way back to Passo Rolle is identical to the way there. You can instead take the bus back to San Martino di Castrozza or as an alternative to the gondola ride, you can start in San Martino (an additional 400 meters in altitude and about 1.5 hours).

Photo tips that will make your Instagram pop – Colbricon and Cavalazza lakes and Cimon della Pala peak at Baita Segantini

The most famous photo spot of this tour is at the Baita Segantini. In the lake sparkles the reflection of the Cimon della Pala as well as the Pala Group with the small hut on the lake. A wide-angle lens is the classic perspective here.

Less known and more natural appearrances are the Colbricon lakes and the small Cavalazza lake.
In the background of the picture, the Latemar peaks and the massive Marmolata (Marmolada) south face greet you.
