Seealpsee (Germany) – Hike the Insta lake in the Allgäu & Capture the Real Natural Jewel
If you are looking for a light hiking and nature trip in the Alps, the 5-kilometer trail that gifts you with the view of Seealpsee Lake might be a perfect choice (and photography opportunity) for you.
Mountain Moments is here to provide you with maps, pointers, and workshops, so grab your hiking equipment and join us in this adventure.
What’s so amazing about this Seealpsee-oriented hiking trip?
Steep grass mountains, rugged boulders, and a fantastically situated mountain lake are the ingredients of this lift-assisted Seealpsee tour.
The Seealpsee is somewhat hidden not far from the Nebelhorn ski area – and is particularly popular with less sure-footed photographers. The symmetrical location and shape of the Alpine high valley magically attract landscape photographers and nature lovers.
The short, family-friendly hike to the popular photo spot and natural jewel Seealpsee can be extended as desired with cable car support. Sporty hikers can take the Hüttenkopf with them or go straight over the Nebelhorn to the Gaißalpseen.
Directions! This is how your Seealpsee-oriented trip looks like on the map
The starting point of our tour is the Nebelhornbahn station Höfatsblick (1929m). A wide, well-signposted path leads from here over the indicator saddle to the Seealpsee. After the saddle, the Hintere See Alpe (1750m) invites you for a long break (serviced in summer). The path continues easily and logically downhill to the Seealpsee (1628m).
If the round tour is not enough for you, you can climb up to the Nebelhorn summit after returning.
We recommend sporty hikers to climb over the Oytal to the Seealpsee and over the summit of the Nebelhorn (2224m). Another variant for sporty hikers is the Hüttenkopf from the indicator saddle (1735m).
Photo tips that will make your Instagram pop! Best location for capturing the Seealpsee lake
The Seealpsee is the jewel of the local mountains in Oberstdorf. We have the best photo location from above the lake. Depending on the amount of sunlight and shadows, it is usually best to place the lake in the middle of the picture.
Mountain Moments Photo Workshops provide Photo Tours for everybody, Alpine Experience for beginners and intermediate-level photographers with 3 to 6-hour routes, as well as Summit Experience for more advanced photographers and hikers. We have private workshops and group classes.
On the sporty alternative routes, we like to pull out the camera with a fantastic view of the summit.
