Bachalpsee Lake – Rockstar of the Bernese Highlands (Hiking Map, Photo Tips & Tricks)
Bachalpsee Lake, located in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, is so beautiful that Gmail, at one point, used its glory for a mountain-themed background. How cool is that! We bring you information about a moderately difficult 16-kilometer hiking route that will show you Bachalpsee in all its prestige. If you are up to the challenge, you are welcomed to join us.
The Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau triumvirate is known for its spectacular scenery in far beyond the country’s borders and as a result, attracts many visitors from all over the region. The massive rock formations contrast picturesquely with permanent ice, high rock cliffs, water-rich mountain streams, and a lush green valley.

If you find the viewing platform at the mountain station too busy, you will not only find much more peace and calmness in the direction of Faulhorn, but also great views down into Western Switzerland and towards Interlaken.

Photo tips that will make your Instagram pop – Bachalp’s panorama, lakes and waterfalls
At the viewing platform at the First mountain station, expect a lot of crowds and waiting time. Bachalp with its dream panorama is also very busy on nice days.
We will find more peace and tranquility if we go up to the Faulhorn summit and not only focus on motifs from higher up, but also have the wonderful view of western Switzerland with lake Thun (Thunersee) and lake Brienz (Brienzersee) (and the photo spot on the Augstmatthorn) before us.

Mountain Moments Photo Workshops provide Photo Tours for everybody, Alpine Experience for beginners and intermediate-level photographers with 3 to 6-hour routes, as well as Summit Experience for more advanced photographers and hikers. We have private workshops and group classes.
