Family Hiking on Seceda Mountain – Experience Italy’s Puez-Odle Peaks with the instagramable Sunrise Photo Location
When talking about hiking trails in the Dolomites, one cannot skip over Seceda mountain and the exciting footpaths and sites this majestic place offers. What are the photographic hotspots, how long the full trip lasts, and what are the major stops along the way? You are about to find out everything you need and wish to know.
The Puez-Odle group inspires with an extraordinary variety of landscapes. At the Seceda hotspot, landscape photographers gather at all times of the day. The impressive, steeply sloping Puez-Odle peaks contrast with the perfectly manicured alpine meadows of the ski area high above Val Gardena.

From the magnificent Geisler peaks, the imposing Stevia mountain paired with a magnificent view of the Sassolungo, and the Sella Group, this hike combines the photographic hot spot with alpine relaxation on colorful flowering alpine meadows.
A spectacular hike for the whole family is in the mountain world of South Tyrol. A connecting hike to the photo location St. Ranui Kirchlein in Sankt Magdalena in Villnösstal is possible from the Pannascharte.
Route description: this is how your amazing journey on Seceda mountain looks like on a map
From the top station of the Seceda cable car a few meters uphill to the summit (2519m). There, behind the Fermeda lift station, it is worthwhile to pause and pull out the camera. Continue along the trail, past the Pannascharte (connection to the Villnöss Valley) and towards the Pieralongia Hut (2297m) turn right under the rock towers.
Continue straight on and at the next but one fork turn right to Refugio Firenze (Regensburger Hut, 2040m). Here you can stop for a break or continue straight on, slightly uphill to the Col Raiser mountain station (2120m). By lift to the valley and by bus back to the starting point.

Photo tips for Seceda summit that will make your Instagram pop
The impressive main photo spot is located near the Seceda summit just a few minutes from the Seceda cable car mountain station – immediately behind the Fermeda mountain station.
A moderate wide-angle to normal focal length will capture the striking Puez-Odle group well. In the course of the hike, great and wide views to the Sassolungo, Sciliar and other Dolomite highlights attract and reward.
