We will start with some of the most important dimensions and aspect ratios for your business on Facebook.
Facebook (Aspect Ratio) and Size

Facebook Profile Picture (1:1) – 400 x 400 px
* Square profile image is used on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. An overall good tip for across the board is to keep it simple, and recognizable.
Facebook Event Cover Photo (1.91:1) – 1920 x 1005 px
* Beautiful Facebook event placement has plenty of space for presentation, and even though you can go as low as 1200 x 628 pixels, 1920 x 1005 px is recommended for sharper screens.
Facebook Group Cover Photo (1.91:1) – 1920 x 1005 px
* A good thing to remember here is to keep important elements away from the edge of the image, as parts that are too close will get cropped out.
Facebook Business Page Cover (16:9) – 1200 x 674 px
* If you heard “820 x 360 pixels” before, you are not mistaken, but it’s better to practice this 16:9 dimension for the Facebook cover, quality-wise.
Facebook Linked Image & Facebook Photo Post (1.91:1) – 1200 x 630 px
* Linked image is a piece of graphics that is automatically pulled from the website when placing a certain link on a Facebook post..
Facebook Stories (9:16) – 1080 x 1920 px
* People will more than likely look at your story vertically, so it makes the most sense to fill out the whole screen with a 9:16 ratio (1080 x 1920 px).
Facebook “Our Story” Cover (2.7:1) – 1200 x 445 px
* This new feature enables you to display additional information about your business, and it can be seen under the cover photo.
Facebook Carousel Ad & Facebook Catalog Image (1:1) – 1080 x 1080 px
* Carousel ad images can be as small as 600 x 600 px, and they allow up to 90 characters.
Facebook Ad (Single Image) (1.91:1) – 1200 x 628 px
* FB ads are used for all stages: awareness, consideration, and conversion. Makes sure to define which stage of the “funnel” you are targeting.
Next, we will cover LinkedIn, a professional social media network with over 750 million members.
LinkedIn Size Guide and Aspect Ratios

More types of images:

Linkedin Cover (Company profile) – 1400 x 425 pixels
*Building your business page on LinkedIn includes growing your audience and posting regularly, but a good cover image is just as crucial.
LinkedIn Cover Image (Overview tab) – 360 x 120 px
* The LinkedIn Life tab has its own cover photo, and the dimensions are 360 x 120 px.
LinkedIn Hero Image – 1128 x 376 px
*Like on regular websites, a “hero” horizontal image is one of the first things visitors will see on LinkedIn.
