Hover Over Zillertal Bridge in Tyrol – Our favourite Hike Mapped Out!
We will not hold you in a suspense about your next potential hiking adventure – a suspension bridge in Zillertal will do that. Look at some of the Mountain Moments photos below, and tell us, wouldn’t you like to be a person in this picture? Find out how to get there with the help of a map and other information provided below. This is a reasonably (not overly) difficult hiking trail in Austria, so take your camera, your hiking equipment and join us.
The most famous photo spot in Tyrol might be a small suspension bridge in the Zillertal. Not far from the Olperer Hut, the small bridge captivates hundreds of mountain hikers every day. No wonder, the most-shot picture with the elongated Schlegeis reservoir and the Hochfeiler massif in the background fits perfectly into the smartphone format in portrait mode.
Although you are standing only a few meters above a mountain stream, the picture background with the reservoir and mountain massif has an impressive effect.
Directions! This is how your Zillertal Bridgehiking adventure looks like on a map
From the bus stop along the Schlegeis reservoir (1782m) and at the rear parking lot right up the hiking trail towards Olperer Hut (2388m). The path goes directly uphill with many hairpin bends to the hut. After a good hour, you have earned the break at the hut and can try a few steps behind the hut at the suspension bridge photographically.
Follow the path further towards the Friesenberg House (2498m) slightly uphill. From Friesenberg House follow the path directly downhill in the direction of Schlegeis reservoir back to the starting point.
Photo tips that will make your Instagram pop – the Schlegeis reservoir and the Hochfeiler massif
The small suspension bridge east of the Olperer Hut with a view of the elongated Schlegeis reservoir and the Hochfeiler massif is the most popular photo spot in the Zillertal. A person on the bridge works particularly well here. To the shimmering blue of the reservoir contrasts a red or yellow outfit.
Mountain Moments Photo Workshops provide Photo Tours for everybody, Alpine Experience for beginners and intermediate-level photographers with 3 to 6-hour routes, as well as Summit Experience for more advanced photographers and hikers. We have private workshops and group classes.
